Begin with the end in mind

For REAL Social Workers The second principal in Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is “begin with the end in mind.”  The end is the expected or desired outcome.  Social workers, who have an entrepreneurial mindset, go beyond their employer developed job description.  These social workers develop a personalized mission and propose outcomes that advance the mission of the organization.   The job description provides a framework for accomplishing the work.  It should not limit, prevent or hinder the outcome or the organization’s mission.  Social workers with an entrepreneurial mindset use innovation, creativity and hard work to solve problems, provide exceptional customer service and add value to the organizations for which they work.
