Hi, I am Marcyline Bailey

This is a picture of me hanging out on Jekyll Island. Sometimes I ride my bike there. I experience solitude and peace when I am in this space. This picture is a visual representation of how I feel inside even when I am not on this beautiful island.

Present, Curious, and Non-judgmental

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 30 years of experience in the field of mental health. I have been a licensed clinician for 26 years. One would think that I knew how to handle stress, scary life events, and overwhelm. Well, I knew what the books said, but that did not prevent me from reaching complete overwhelm and burnout.

When I started my private practice, I began meeting with women who had the same concerns.

They were

  • Exhausted
  • Unable to sleep well
  • On edge and anxious

They also

  • Worked hard to make a comfortable life for their families while carving a career for themselves
  • Felt they had to be perfect in every aspect of their lives
  • blamed themselves and accepted blame from others If something went wrong, they
  • Pushed themselves, often going above and beyond even without adequate resources or support
  • Suppressed their feelings when they felt overwhelmed
  • Could not show emotions without appearing weak

They could not

  • Say no to family or friends
  • Set limits even when family took advantage of their kindness and availability
  • Stop dwelling on their situation and that of others

I listened to these ladies and recognized that they were like me, run down and running on empty.

This is when my transformation work started. Now, I am sharing what I learned and what worked for me.
