Do You Have Time for Downtime the Answer is Yes

Expectations Dashed

I failed to meet my self – imposed work goals this weekend. I am just now writing my blog post that will be posted tonight. I have not written my monthly newsletter for subscribers. Even my super good, good e-book remains in the can. I have two out of town trips planned for this week and I only started thinking about preparing and packing a few minutes ago.

I accomplished a few things that made my family and me happy. I made a chocolate pie using a paleo recipe. It was delicious. I prepped the chicken tenders we ate tonight. I even caught up on two of the last three episodes of This is Us.

I felt down after thinking I wasted a full day of work related possibilities. Then I read this quote:

“My downtime tends to resemble my up time. Weekends are workdays, but toned down. Over the whole weekend, I may have five meetings, as opposed to six on a weekday. I used to play piano for 30 minutes at night, but I had to pull that out of my schedule. I don’t have time for non-work stuff.” Aaron Levie

Reality Sets In

I am happy I caught up on my favorite show. I’m thrilled my family loves the no sugar added pie. The only thing I am sad about today is that you won’t get to read my new free 30 page e-book. It is coming.
My downtime energizes me. It gives s knew insights, creative power and energy. I need and enjoy my down time.
